Russell Stover Hockey Mission Statement
The mission of the Russell Stover Tier I hockey program is two-fold.
- One, to develop the player both on and off the ice into a mature adult with a well rounded academic background that is capable of playing hockey at the next level.
- Two, provide the necessary exposure for the player to showcase his talents to junior and college hockey scouts.
To satisfy those ends, Russell Stover hockey calls Pepsi Ice Midwest in Overland Park Kansas its home. The Ice Midwest facility is a modern, two NHL sheet facility with all the usual amenities of a state of the art rink. Additionally, Russell Stover hockey players enjoy dedicated locker rooms, weight room, and corporate sponsorship from Russell Stover Candies, Inc. Parents with players playing for Russell Stover hockey will find the Blue Valley and Olathe school districts to be among the finest school districts in the nation. Johnson County, where nearly ever player will be billeted, is among the nicest and most affluent counties in the United States.
Russell Stover Hockey’s inclusion in the Teir 1 Hockey League further ensures it will compete against the highest caliber competition in the nation while being heavily scouted by junior and college hockey programs.
The central location of Kansas City in the Midwest serves to open the entire nation to scheduling possibilities for the team as well as making it easy to attend one of the several home dates the team hosts.
This two-fold approach to player development and exposure, combined with the extraordinary coaching staff, facilities and central location truly makes Russell Stover hockey an exceptional midget hockey choice.
The results of the approach are evidenced in our programs achievements and in our alumni.
